The unceasing wait

Stream in a colourful forest

Reading Time: 4 min

Waiting,

Waiting for the time that will never come back,

Waiting for the freedom that will never come back,

Waiting for that emotion that will never come,

All that was lost that will never come back.

In search,

In search for some meaning in this trite world,

In search for some feeling in this numb world,

In search for some heart in this soulless world,

All that was lost that I might never get back.

Yearning,

Yearning for the past that was left incomplete,

Yearning for trust that was broken in pieces,

Yearning for a life that was repeatedly promised,

All that I have is the pieces of a future that will never come true.

Still,

Loving myself when all I feel is hate,

Loving life when all I feel is death,

Loving everyone just to compensate,

All that you need is a love that will love you back.

Waiting,

Waiting for what is waiting for me.

The Albert Camus essay which inspired me to write this poem can be found in the link below.

If man realized that the universe like him can love and suffer, he would be reconciled [..] The absurd man says yes and his efforts will henceforth be unceasing
